Nine three-pointers, 22 points in the first half and 31 for the game. Off the bench.

That was Joey Chrisman’s stat line Saturday in the Davenport Bulldogs’ district championship win against Summit Christian.

It seemed as if he was lasered in on the bottom of the net as three after three dropped in. A couple of heat checks rimmed away in the second half, but the outcome was already decided by then.

It was Davenport 65, Summit 37, with the 11-4 Bulldogs advancing to the regional tournament winners’ bracket against Garber.

Chrisman did most of his heavy lifting in the first half, going off for four threes and a deuce in the first quarter and adding two more threes and a two-pointer in the second.

The Bulldogs were up 41-19 at that point and the only remaining drama was how many threes Chrisman would nail.

The Davenport girls advanced to the winner’s bracket, too, bouncing Summit Christian, 39-29, and will face Garber in the first round.

Wellston also hosted a Class A district, with the boys getting a first-round bye and beating Woodland, 69-58, for the championship. The Tigers will meet Calumet in the first round at Pond Creek.

The girls won their first round against Hominy, but fell in the championship game. They will advance to the regional consolation bracket and meet Oklahoma Bible in the first round at Pond Creek.
