Stroud Public Schools to gain new baseball complex

Progress continues on the new Stroud Baseball Complex. June 8, the Stroud Board of

June 8, the Stroud Board of Education approved the Geo-Technical Services contract with Burgess Engineering for the new Baseball Complex and the proposal with Grubbs Consulting LLC for engineering for the new Baseball Complex.

Stroud Superintendent Joe Van Tuyl said they have been preparing this project for years and hopes to have construction begin within the next two months.

The features of this new complex will include two full size fields, consession stand, restrooms, a hitting facility and a dressing room area.

The architect for the project is Boynton Williams and Associates.

Although they haven’t put out for bids yet, Van Tuyls estimates this project to be $3 – 4 million dollars, paid for out of the Building Fund.

Van Tuyl said this project will be completed in phases and will be completed in the next two years.

This fully functioning property will be located just east of the AG facility on Allied Road, just south of Interstate 44.

Van Tuyl said this complex will be available for community use.

“We will be able to host tournaments of various natures,” he said.

Other actions made by the board include:

• Approval of the consent agenda.

• Approval of the contract between Stroud Public School and Wewoka Head Start for the 2020-2021 school year.

• Approval of the Memorandum of Understanding with Wewoka Public Schools Co-Op Head Start for the 2020-2021 school year.

• Approval of the contract CTSA Head Start for the 2020- 2021 school year.

• Approval of the contract with Tekocity Corporation for device and energy management services.

• Approval of the renewal leases with D.L.L. for school copiers for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2021.

• Approval of the 2020-2021 Temporary Appropriation of school funds.

• Approval of the contract between Stroud Schools and The Center for Education Law for the 2020-2021 school year.

• Approval of the activity performance incentive stipends for the 2019-2020 year for qualifying staff as per the schedule of the Activity Performance Incentive Plan.

• Approval of the salary extension stipend of the 2019- 2020 year for qualifying professional staff as per the Salary Extension Stipends Schedule.

• Approved Danny Acord of Davenport to serve on the Five Starr Inter-Local Board of Directors for the 2020-2021 school year.

• Approval of the Five Star Inter-Local Agreement for payment for the 2020-2021 school year.

• Approval of the E-Rate contract with CRW Consulting for the 2020-2021 school year at a cost of $2,200.

• Approval of the lease of Quadient Mail (formerly Neopost) Metering System using state contract pricing with payments to be made through Quadient Leasing USA, Inc. at a cost of $95.24.

• Approval of the declaring as surplus two antiquated steam tables and allowing the Superintendent to advertise for bids, accept bids or dispose of as appropriate. • Approval of the termination

• Approval of the termination of the supply agreement with Constellation NewEnergy Gas Division, LLC effective July 31, 2021.

• Approval of an agreement with BlueMark Energy LLC for natural gas supply and delivery starting Aug. 1, 2020.

• Approval of the financial contract to Jenkins & Kemper Certified Public Accountants, P.C. for the 2020-2021 school year for $6,500 per year.

• Approval of the Support Personnel salary list for the 2020-2021 school year.

• Approval of the Open Transfer List with the exception of numbers 2 & 15 with the Superintendent to notify of the results for the 2020-2021 school year.

• Approval of the resignation of Jessica Starr.

• Approval of the request for First Baptist Church to provide transportation for Jacobs Ladder on July 6-9, 2020, expenses to be paid by First Baptist Church.
