Lankford meets in Stroud

U.S. Sen. James Lankford and state Rep. Kyle Hilbert, R-Depew, were in Stroud last week for a meeting hosted at Stroud Hospital byAVEM Health Partners. Stroud Action coalition members shared their vision and plans to address quality of life issues in the area.

Pride of Chandler finishes first

The Pride of Chandler competed at Holdenville Saturday against 24 bands ranging from Class 2A to 5A. Chandler placed first in the 3A Blue Class in the prelims, along with receiving high score in percussion and colorguard with an advance to the finals.

Events to honor former resident Ronald Crews

The state of Oklahoma will recognize former Chandler resident Ronald Crews on Oct. 21 in Chandler’s Tilghman Park.

Homecoming hallways

Meeker’s homecoming is Friday against the Kellyville Ponies, so this week the high school classes decorated the hallways in what has become a school tradition. The theme this was “All roads lead to victory.”

Museum mural

Famed mural artist Bob Palmer and his team from Palmer Studios painted a mural at the Lincoln County Historical Society Museum of Pioneer History on Friday, Sept. 2 and Saturday, Sept. 3 as part of ongoing renovations in the museum’s Children’s Historical Resource Center.
