Texan arrested

A Texas motorist who was stopped on the Turner Turnpike arrested and charged with a drug offense has made his initial appearance.Son Chi Nguyen, 45, of Richmond, Texas was charged in Lincoln County District Court Nov. 2 with unlawful possession of a Controlled Drug with intent to distribute.

Council revamps process for weed, trash abatement

EMILY KALKA Staff writer The Chandler City Council voted at their monthly meeting on May 14 to revamp weed and trash abatement, removing public hearings on these issues from council meetings and making them an administrative process.The council discussed the change in April’s meeting.

Trials set in murder case

The murder trials for a Wellston woman and an Iowa man charged in the death of a Carney man have been rescheduled to October, Clyde Dean Clayton, 42, of Sioux City, Iowa and Janelle Berthna Brown, 39, Wellston, were formally charged July 14, 2023 in Lincoln County District Court.

Meeker Board of Education

Meeker’s Board of Education this week approved continuing contracts for certified staff, support staff and for extra duty for the 2024-2025 school year.

Date set for murder trial

A jury trial date has been scheduled for a Stroud man facing a first degree murder charge related to the distribution of Fentanyl, a Controlled Dangerous Substance.Formal charges were filed in Lincoln County District Court Dec. 6, 2023 against Dillon Young, 30.

Arraignment continued on firearms

The arraignment has been continued for a defendant who was originally charged in Lincoln County with two felonies and a misdemeanor who also has been indicted by a federal grand jury.Jameel Rasheed Wilkins, 37, was charged in Lincoln County District Court on Dec.
