Prague man dies in I-40 crash

A Prague man reportedly has died as the result of injuries he suffered in a traffic collision Sunday night on I-40 near Shawnee in Pottawatomie County. State Trooper Matt Rackley stated the crash occurred around 8:14 p.m. Sunday on eastbound I-40 at mile market 187.5.

Girl Scouts donate to Safe Routes to School

Girl Scout Troop #919 of Chandler donated $1,000 to the Safe Routes to School Sidewalk Project (Phase 2) recently. This was their final service project before disbanding the Troop. Several girls who are now Juniors in High School have been active since Kindergarten in 2012.

Blind plea in abuse case

A Lincoln County resident has waived his right to a jury trial and entered a blind plea of guilty on the day his trial was starting. Brandon Matthew Tarpenning, 40, who deputies say resides in the Harrah area, was first charged in Lincoln County District Court on Dec. 30, 2022 with child neglect.
