Dale’s Board of Education this week hired several new teachers and a new high school baseball coach and also accepted the resignations of two others. They also accepted the resignation of Board Member Josh Clark. And the board members reorganized themselves for a year.

Jail to be funded by ARPA

Lincoln County commissioners have voted to make the jail expansion and remodel an ARPA funded project. They also have approved an agreement with the Oklahoma Department of Transportation and the Oklahoma Turnpike Authority regarding the 930 Loop project.

Meeker board approves budget

Meeker’s Town Board of Trustees have voted to approve the proposed General Fund and Public Works Authority budgets for 2023-2024. Their actions came during a recent special meeting. Town Clerk and Treasurer Mary Conner said the Trustees voted 3-1 in favor of approving the budgets.

A woman charged with harboring her brother from justice has announced she’s ready for trial. Kara Vancuren, 34, of Prague, was formally charged in Lincoln County District Court July 29, 2022 with harboring a fugitive from justice.

A large dedicated group of people gathered at the pavilion at Meeker New Hope Cemetery, Monday at 11:30 a.m. The group gathered to honor active duty, veterans who are no longer serving, and those who died in the performance of their military duties while serving in the US Armed Forces.

A pre-preliminary hearing has been continued again for a Meeker man who was arrested after officers served a search warrant on his residence across from the Town Hall. A formal felony charge was filed in Lincoln County District Court Sep. 23 against John Henry Hagar, 34.

Jury trials scheduled for a Wellston attorney and her reported accomplice on drug related charges and a firearms count have been continued until the fall. Formal felony charges were filed in Lincoln County District Court Dec. 6, 2022 against Debra Dawn Campbell, 59.
