Tarpenning ready for trial

A Lincoln County resident, facing a total of four felonies and two misdemeanors in two separate cases who has been ordered to stand trial, has announced he’s ready for trial.

Meeker board of education

Meeker School Board members this week hired five new teachers and named a new principal along with accepting four resignations. Matt Jones, currently a teacher and the girls’ high school basketball coach at Meeker, is the new Middle School Principal.

Stroud High School honor rolls

Stroud High School announced its honor roll for the spring semester. Students named to Superintendent’s Honor Roll have a 4.0 GPA and students named to the Principal’s Honor Roll have a 3.0 GPA with no grade less than a C.

Lincoln County News wins Sequoyah Award

The Lincoln County News won the Sequoyah Award last weekend at the annual Oklahoma Press Association convention. The award is presented each year to the top nine newspapers from the association’s 170-plus members.

Trial set for Agra man

An Agra man bound over to stand trial on 14 felonies with minors has pleaded not guilty and his trial has been scheduled. Kenneth Taylor Simpson, 21, originally was charged on Oct.

Prague man sentenced in chop shop

A Prague man has pleaded guilty and been sentenced to prison on three felonies in relation to a chop shop operation.
