Tryon defendants waive hearings

Two of three former officials with the City of Tryon facing embezzlement and conspiracy charges have waived their right to preliminary hearings and their arraignments have been set.

Charges dropped against Carney man

A Carney man’s case, which had been scheduled for the upcoming jury trial docket, has been dismissed. Bobby Lloyd Johnston, 64, was arrested on Jan. 11, 2022 as officers served a warrant at 820575 S. 3330 Road in Lincoln County. Originally, he was charged with three felonies and four misdemeanors.

Charges filed in arson cases

A Stroud man faces six felony charges accusing him of setting wildfires in Lincoln County over a period of nearly a year. Two counts of second degree arson and four counts of third degree arson were formally filed Dec. 28 in Lincoln County District Court against Chad Michael Hutson, 48.

Hearing continued in Meeker drug case

A pre-preliminary hearing has been continued for a Meeker man who was arrested after officers served a search warrant on his residence across from the Town Hall. A formal felony charge was filed in Lincoln County District Court Sep. 23 against John Henry Hagar, 34.

Winter arrives

For the second time in less than a week, a wintry blast moved across the state bringing a mixture of sleet, freezing rain, ice and snow to much of Oklahoma. By early Monday morning, most roads in Lincoln and Pottawatomie Counties had become slick and hazardous, but passable.

Prison term for Sparks man

A Sparks man, who during the first week of January waived his right to a preliminary hearing, has pleaded guilty and been handed prison terms on each of three felony counts. Brandon Allen Walker, 43, was formally charged in Lincoln County District Court on Oct.

Lions of the Month announced

Chandler High School announced that the January Lions of the Month are Emma Cummings, Brayden Hilgenfeld and Sadie Sherman. Emma Cummings is the daughter of Rafe and Christon Cummings. At Chandler High School she maintains a 4.0 GPA while taking advanced English classes and concurrent classes.
