For at least the third consecutive week, the number of new positive COVID-19 cases in Pottawatomie and Lincoln Counties has jumped by double digits, Oklahoma State Department of Health figures show.

Drug arrest in Meeker

A Norman woman has been charged with illegally trafficking drugs following her arrest by Meeker police earlier this month. Mitizi Blayne Williams, 44, was arrested July 3 by Meeker Police Officer Raymond Mackin.

Lincoln County commissioners this week signed an Emergency Disaster proclamation for rainfall that began June 24 of this year. Some areas reportedly received up to 15-16 inches, commissioners have reported.

French to honor Sac & Fox airman

The consul general of France scheduled a presentation Wednesday morning to award the Legion of Honor posthumously to Sac and Fox Nation veteran Don. J. Chouteau. Chouteau, who died last year, was a tailgunner on a B-24 bomber assigned to espionage activities in Europe during World War II.

Town Talk along with the American Legion and the American Legion Auxiliary will hold a Memorial Day Ceremony at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, May 25th at the Stroud Cemetery. There will be a short program and a 21-gun salute to honor our deceased veterans.
