Lincoln County Assessor’s hours

The Lincoln County Assessor’s office will be open Saturday, March 12, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 noon to conduct assessment business according to county assessor Jackie Holcomb.

First Christian Church

Shawna Powell led the Call to Worship for the Second Sunday in Lent. Taylor Lau served as acolyte. Music was provided by Patty Swann and Lyn Martin. Robin Smith gave the children’s sermon. Anita Reynolds and Marilyn Wheeler served as elders for communion.

School board approves principal’s contracts

Leadership within the walls of the Stroud schools will stay the same for another year. The contracts for the Dean of Students and all three Stroud Principals were approved for the 2020-2021 school year.

Wooden serves a page for Senate

Stroud senior Gracie Wooden has completed a week of service as a page for the State Senate, Sen. Darrell Weaver, R-Moore, announced at the Capitol this week.

Stroud police Jonathan Roggenkamp was charged with driving an all terrain vehicle in a prohibited area. William Edward Thomason was charged with failure to pay on charges of possession of controlled dangerous substance (methamphetamine), possession of drug paraphernalia and public intoxication.

Saturday, Feb. 15, Stroud FFA hosted their local livestock show. Stroud will be competing in the Lincoln County Livestock show Mar. 24 - 28 at the Lincoln County Fairgrounds. Tripp Berna, pictured at the top, won Grand Champion Heifer, Breed Champion Angus heifer and Breed Champion shorthorn plus.

Hughey makes 1,000 point

Tuesday, Feb. 11, Katlyn Hughey made her 1,000 point shot. “It’s a really big deal,” head coach Jake Jobe said. “It’s a really hard thing to do. ” Over the course of her career in high school basketball, Katlyn was able to accomplish a goal set by many and achieved by few.

City approves raises
