Football starts!

Local high school football teams got their first day of full-pad practices on Friday and got in some of their traditional scrimmages over the weekend.

Randall second at Stroud meet

Meeker sophomore Riley Randall ran an 11:10 at the Stroud Cross Country meet on Saturday, taking second place. An All-Stater last year as a freshman, Randall finished among a pack of runners from Lincoln Christian, which had the first-, third- and fourthplace finishers.

The Stroud boys golf team have played in two tournaments in Catoosa and Wewoka. At the tournament in Catoosa, the team shot a total score of 440. At the tournament in Wewoka, the team score was 391 and placed 3rd overall.

Success in double header

The Tigers didn’t score much against Meeker and Prague last week, but they didn’t need to, thanks to Bryce Hughey, Blake Parrick and Seth Cline. The three Stroudpitchers combined to allow two runs in 10 innings and let the Tigers take identical 2-1 victories in a three-way set at Meeker.
