Baseball season starts with success

The Stroud Tigers came out swinging at the season opener last Friday. The Tigers took on the Davenport Bulldogs and walked away with a 10-2 win. The Tigers came out strong in the first inning with four runs. The Bulldogs responded with two runs, but were unable to catch up to the Tigers.

Stroud seniors sign to play football

Five Stroud Tiger Football team members signed to a variety of universities to continue their academic and athletic careers. Stroud will be represented at Northeastern Oklahoma A&M, Northeastern State University, and Southwestern Oklahoma State University in the fall of 2020.

Parrick named Region 2 Male Scholar Athlete of the year

Wednesday night, Feb. 12, Gage Parrick, Stroud senior pictured above, was selected as the Region 2 Male Scholar Athlete of the year at the Region 2 Oklahoma Coaches’ Association meeting. Region 2 consists of 60 schools in central and northern Oklahoma. This award carries with it a $500.

The Tigers ended their regular season with a 68-66 win in overtime against the Holdenville Wolverines. This brings their regular season record to 3-18. The Lady Tigers fell to the Holdenville Lady Wolverines and suffered a 45-40 loss, bringing their regular season record to 13-10. Tuesday, Feb.
