Bulldogs dtop opener on the road

Taking on the state’s Class B defending state champions on the road in their first contest of the 2025 football season, the Davenport Bulldogs fell to Weleetka 48-14.It was also the first contest for new Davenport head football coach Grant Powell.

The Stroud Rural Fire Association will hold its annual meeting on September 29th at 6:30 p.m. at the Foster Park Pavilion. Entertainment will be provided by the Redland Country Band. The Association would like to get members more involved. Bring your neighbors and any potential members.

Meeker Board of Education members this week approved the 2025-2026 Estimate of Needs and Financial Statement, voted to offer contracts to several people and accepted the resignation of one.School Supt. Jeff Pruitt reported the 2025-2026 Estimate of Needs totals $11,422,055.

Birthday

A couple of weeks ago I wrote about our grandson Liam’s birthday who was turning 7. It had a special significance this year in light of his mother, our daughter Meghan, wouldn’t be there to share it with him.Many of you are aware, I know, that she passed away Aug. 18 from a bout with brain cancer.
