All those special moments you can never experience again such as your high school graduation, the birth of your children, your wedding day, and countless others. They only come once in a lifetime. You think about all the good things that happened on those days.

Remembering a mother

A woman I haven’t spoken much about in this space is my mother who reared me from shortly after I turned six years old. As many of you are aware, my maternal mother passed away when I was 3½ years old. She died of acute leukemia.

My special friend and beloved Stroud plant guru Cathy Terry passed away unexpectedly this past week. When I heard Cathy had become ill and had been life flighted to a Tulsa hospital, I was very concerned but never expected to hear the news I received.

Robert James Broughton

Robert James Broughton, 78, passed away on Thursday, October 20, 2022. Robert was born on Sunday, June 11, 1944, in Idaho Springs, Colorado, to Howard Nathan and Betty Ann (McGee-Bane) Broughton. He was a long-time resident of Chandler, Oklahoma. Robert made his career as a OTR truck driver.

Gary Wayne Shields

Gary Wayne Shields died on Tuesday, October 11, 2022 in Omaha, Neb. Born on March 16, 1954 in Stroud, OK, Gary was 68 years old. Gary was one of 11 children of Ralph and Winfred (Thomas) Shields. Gary was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Tommy, Jimmy, Phil, Fred, and Ricky.

Juanita Faye Stanfield

Juanita Faye Stanfield was born September 20, 1943 in Luther to James and Adella (Davis) Stanfield. She passed away October 21, 2022 in Wellston at the age of 79. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m.
