Marjorie “Marge” White

Marjorie “Marge” May White of Bull Shoals, Arkansas, passed away Aug. 11, 2022, in Mountain Home, Ark. at the age of 88. She was born May 16,1934, in Linden, N.J., the daughter of Alphonse Levi and Mary Amynthe Robin Lyons. She married Jimmy Jerry White on Nov. 29, 1959.

Tryon hearing continued

A pre-preliminary has been continued for one of three former officials with the City of Tryon facing embezzlement and conspiracy charges as the result of a special investigative audit have made their initial appearances and their pre-preliminary hearings have been scheduled.

Charges filed in pursuit

A driver faces two felonies and a pair of misdemeanors following a pursuit that began in Meeker and ended in Chandler in Lincoln County recently. Joshua Wade Pleasant, 34, Shawnee, was formally charged in Lincoln County District Court on Aug. 1 with two felony counts of running a roadblock.

Warrant issued for sex offender

A bench warrant has been issued for the arrest of a Chandler man who is a registered sex offender and who faces two felony counts. Scott Grady Sweeden, 43, was formally charged in Lincoln County District Court on Aug. 15.

Preliminary hearings have been scheduled for a Stroud man who faces six felonies filed against against him within a two-month period during 2021.

Charges in turnpike case

A motorist faces a felony and two misdemeanors after he was arrested by a state trooper on the TurnerTurnpike in Lincoln County. Formal charges were filed May 3 in Lincoln County District Court against Steven Mitchell Jones, 31, of Skiatook.

Meeker gets water REAP grant

The Town of Meeker Public Works Authority has received a $99,999 Rural Economic Action Plan grant from the Oklahoma Water Resources Board. The grant is to help the Meeker PWA improve its water infrastructure.

Shirley Ann Greenfield died on Aug. 15, 2022. She was born on Aug. 9, 1939, to Homer Vincent and Doris Lorraine (Newman) Anderson. When she was 16 years old, Shirley married her sweetheart, Lionel Dale Greenfield in Cushing, Okla. To this union were born four children.
