The American Legion Auxiliary invites all veterans and their families and the Stroud community to Ed. Smalley Centennial Park this Sunday from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. for a community picnic luncheon to honor our veterans. Lunch is free to veterans and their family members.

Prague’s girls posted three of the 10 fastest times and took third in the Class3A state cross country meet Saturday at North Rock Creek.Sophomore Jocelyn Ward finished second, running a 12:03.1, junior Hailey Johnson was second, finishing in 12:20.1 and sophomore Hanna Roulette turned in a 12:29.

Stroud’s 1st and 2nd grade football team walloped Inola, 50-0, in their first-round playoff game Saturday. They’re 9-0 now and haven’t allowed an opponent to score all season. They host Sperry at 11:30 a.m. Saturday in the second round. Above, a post-game photo with the happy team and coaches.

Area bands receive ‘excellent’ ratings

Marching band contest season has officially come to an end with five area bands competing at OSSAA Regionals over the last two weeks. Four of the bands received II or Excellent ratings -- McLoud, Stroud, Chandler and North Rock Creek. Prague received a III.
