Chandler student named NWOSU Outstanding Senior

Britni Stewart of Chandler was one of 12 graduates at Northwestern Oklahoma State University in Alva selected as a 2022 Outstanding Senior. Stewart will graduate cum laude this month with a bachelor’s degree in agriculture education.

Lincoln County Democrats meeting set for July 14

Wellston awarded AARP grant

AARP Oklahoma announced the town of Wellston is one of four Oklahoma organizations that will receive a 2022 Community Challenge grant. These organizations are part of the largest group of grantees to date, with $3.4 million awarded among 260 organizations nationwide.

A pre-preliminary hearing has been scheduled for a Luther man charged with two felonies and two misdemeanors after allegedly discharging a firearm in a case investigated by Lincoln County deputies and other officers.

A preliminary hearing has been scheduled for the owner of a major illegal marijuana grow operation who was charged following her arrest by agents in June of last year. During a pre-preliminary hearing June 23, Special Judge Emily Mueller scheduled the preliminary hearing for 1:30 p.m. Sep. 1.

A Stroud bank was reportedly robbed on Thursday, June 30, and the suspect fled on foot. Lincoln County Sheriff’s Capt. Chuck Brewer reported he and several deputies responded to the robbery that morning at the RCB Bank in Stroud.
