I remember clearly the day I quit liking milk and ice cream. It was the spring of 1971 and I was going through the dinner line at East Oklahoma State College in Wilburton. I got my usual glass of milk, sat down, ate a couple of bites,took a drink of milk and Bleeccchhh.

Thank you to everyone who came out to play miniature golf this weekend at Putt Putt Kicks on Route 66. We appreciate the support. Not only did we have lots of local golfers, but we also had a family from Bristow who made a special trip to play with us.

I recently had occasion to talk to two old friends about an event that happened to us close to 50 years ago. The three of us were duck hunting with another friend named Terry, who suggested we go to a watershed lake not far away. “I have permission to hunt there,” he said.

With schools out and it warming up, this is a good time to go fishing. Thinking about fishing, brings back a lot of good memories. When I retired from the daily paper more than 8½ years ago, I envisioned doing a lot of hunting and fishing.
