After a quick review of last year, I am happy to report that I cleared New Year’s without breaking any of my three main resolutions for 2022. They were: - To not eat liver any time during the year. - To not visit Kazakhstan - To lose some weight.

Sunday marked the beginning of a new year, 2023. In reflecting on what some New Year’s Days used to be like when I growing up, I began to think about some of those when I was a teenager. From the time I was around 13 or so, and we had a bird dog, dad and I spent a lot of them quail hunting.
