Suspect in high speed chase to go to trial

A driver facing four charges after he reportedly led Stroud police on a high speed pursuit and was arrested has been bound over to stand trial. Dustin Don Secrest, 41, of Coweta, was formally charged in Lincoln County District Court March 10 this year with two felonies and two misdemeanors.

No-show for bench trial

A defendant who waived a jury trial and asked for a bench trial instead failed to appear and a $50,000 bench warrant has been issued for his arrest. Joshua Wade Pleasant, 34, Shawnee, was formally charged in Lincoln County District Court on Aug.

Highway work

Drivers on Rt. 66 and Highway 18 may face some delays in the future, though once done, the roads will be safer and easier to drive, according to the Oklahoma Department of Transportation (ODOT). Tentatively scheduled for completion around Spring 2025, an 11-mile stretch of Rt.
