Bench warrant issued for Meeker man

A bench warrant has been issued for the arrest of a Meeker man facing felony and misdemeanor charges. Formal charges of first degree burglary, a felony, and assault and battery, a misdemeanor were filed Nov. 8 in Lincoln County District Court against Nicholas Shane Cagle, 28.

Texas driver arrested

A Texas motorist recently stopped on the Turner Turnpike has been arrested and charged with a drug offense. Son Chi Nguyen, 45, of Richmond, Texas was charged in Lincoln County District Court Nov. 2 with unlawful possession of a Controlled Drug with intent to distribute.

Time for a new third party?

There was interesting national news last week. First, a Gallup Poll showed that almost twothirds of American adults believe that the Republican and Democrat parties do “such a poor job” of representing the American people that “a third major party is needed.

Three Lincoln County football teams played in the second round of the playoffs, with Stroud winning to advance to the class A quarterfinals while Meeker fell to Washington, 56-7, and Prague lost to Victory Christian, 52-39.

Arraignment set in Stroud man’s death

A Jennings man facing a manslaughter charge or in the alternative negligent homicide has been bound over to stand trial in the death of a Stroud man. Brent Lee Nobles, 43, was charged in Lincoln County District Court March 23. A $15,000 bench warrant was issued at that time for his arrest.

Incitement to riot

A Lincoln County jail inmate, who has been previously convicted of at least five felonies, has been charged in connection with a recent riot at the jail.
