Two face charges in death

A woman from Wellston and a man from Iowa have been formally charged in connection with the death of a Carney area man. Each faces three felonies. Each is being held in the Lincoln County Jail in Chandler without bond.

Marijuana hearing continued

Preliminary hearings for two men from Okmulgee arrested by Lincoln County deputies and charged with cultivating a Controlled Dangerous Substance have been continued. The deputies reportedly seized 386 marijuana clone plants. Quing Li Zheng, 55, and Wei Goa, 41, were each charged Nov.

Sentencing in August in motorcycle shooting

A sentencing date has been set for an Oklahoma City biker who was convicted last month of first degree manslaughter in the shooting death of a Midwest City man in September of 2021.

Meeker settles damages

Meeker’s Town Board of Trustees this week approved several checks for settlements from damage due to storms and also approved the purchase and installation of two new air conditioning units for the Police Department. Trustees approved a franchise check from OG&E in the amount of $29,681,25.

Hearings set in murder

Preliminary hearings have been scheduled for a man charged with first degree murder and two other felonies and for two others facing accessory to murder and desecration of a human corpse.

Shots fired at officer

A Chandler man who is suspected of shooting at a tribal officer during a traffic stop is in the Lincoln County Jail in Chandler after his family reportedly brought him there. Lincoln County Sgt. Aaron Bennett identified the suspect as Shelton James Sutton, Jr., 30.
