John Henry Davis Jr.

John Henry Davis Jr. was born to the union of John Henry and Josephine Davis on November 23, 1948 in Gila Bend, Arizona. He passed away June 19, 2023 in Oklahoma City at the age of 74. He was the fifth child of six.

Juanita Renner Brown

Donald Gene Brown, while they were both students at Central. Juanita would often joke when speaking of her husband that she “chased him until he caught me.” They were married in December of 1952 and welcomed their daughter, Donita Brown, in 1953.

Billie LeeRoy Davis

Billie LeeRoy Davis was born August 18, 1935 in Wellston to Walter and Ethel (Prough) Davis. He passed away June 19, 2023 in his home in Wellston at the age of 87. Billie grew up in Wellston where he graduated from high school with the class of 1953.

Robert John Jarvis, Jr.

Robert John Jarvis, Jr. was born October 29, 2003 in Midwest City to Robert, Sr. and Teresa (Bobbitt) Jarvis. He passed away in a traffic accident June 20, 2023 at the age of 19. Robert grew up in Wellston where he attended school graduating with the Wellston Class of 2022.

Town Talk

Thank you to everyone who came out to play miniature golf this weekend at Putt Putt Kicks on Route 66. We appreciate the support. Not only did we have lots of local golfers, but we also had a family from Bristow who made a special trip to play with us.

Anticipating July 4th

We kept the grandson part of this weekend and when Pat and I and little Liam were riding around on Saturday we drove by several fireworks stands. It’s hard not to drive by one as many as there are around and they’ve been selling fireworks for at least a couple of weeks already.

I recently had occasion to talk to two old friends about an event that happened to us close to 50 years ago. The three of us were duck hunting with another friend named Terry, who suggested we go to a watershed lake not far away. “I have permission to hunt there,” he said.

Trial set for former Tryon employee
