Hearing continued in Meeker chase, collision

A preliminary hearing was started recently and will continue later for a Shawnee man who faces two felony charges and three misdemeanor counts following a pursuit that reached a speed of nearly 100 miles an hour and striking a vehicle head-on, critically injuring the woman who was driving.

18-year-old charged in rape case

An 18-year-old faces first and second degree rape charges following his arrest recently by Lincoln County deputies. Formal charges were filed in Lincoln County District Court Sep. 1 against Luke Anthony Myers, whose address is listed as Stillwater.

A Chandler man facing three felony charges related to trafficking, cultivation and maintaining a place for keeping and selling illegal drugs had made his initial appearance and a pre-preliminary hearing has been set.

Suspended sentences after guilty pleas

A Stroud man has pleaded guilty to a pair of felony charges and has drawn two suspended prison sentences. Formal charges were filed June 29 in Lincoln County District Court against Jesus Daniel Fraire-Aguero, alias Jesus Daniel Aguero, 34.

Lincoln County commissioners Monday implemented a countywide burn ban, meaning no outside burning will be allowed for 14 days beginning that day. Their action came on a unanimous vote during an emergency meeting that was held at the conclusion of their regular meeting on Monday.

A Meeker man facing sexual abuse charges with a child under 12 has been bound over to stand trial on amended charges. Two felony charges of sexual abuse with a child under 12 were originally filed April 4 against Jason Stuart Kirkwood, 42.
