Fires hit county; arson suspected

Arson is suspected in two Lincoln County fires last weekend that forced evacuations in the Chandler area and reportedly burned an old church building and a vacant structure in Sparks. There were no reported injuries in the fires. Lincoln County Sheriff’s Capt.

Chandler sophomore Kalee Peery set a new state record last week at the state powerlifting meet, squatting 275 pounds. She competed in the 121-pound class. There was several top five finishers from Lincoln County.

Hearing moved again for grow-house operator

A pre-preliminary hearing once again has been continued for the owner of a major illegal marijuana grow operation who was charged following her arrest by agents in June of last year. Sai Ying Lin, 48, of Try on, was formally charged in Lincoln County District Court June 23.
