Steven L. Creager was born on March 26, 1960. He was the son of Chester “Ted” Creager and Dorothy “Liz” Watkins Mercer. Steve married Carol Smith Creager of the home on September 4, 2015.

A memorial service will be held for Terry Gene Williams Jr., Wah koe sha-Ha (Little Fox), at 2 p.m., today, January 21, 2021, at Stroud High School Coliseum. Care Services are provided by Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Stroud. Williams was born to Terry Gene and Paula Kaye (Knight) Williams Sr.

Susan Yvonne Markwell

Susan Yvonne Markwell, originally of Meeker, was born January 14, 1943. She died Sunday, December 20, 2020, in Tampa, Fla., at the age of 77 years. Markwell, the daughter of Colonel Elvan and Zelma Markwell, married Ronnie Sutton of Tecumseh, Okla., in 1971.

Norman Valentine Kimball

Norman Valentine Kimball was born February 14, 1932, in Davenport, Okla., and died Friday, January 15, 2021, in Chandler. He was 88 years old. Kimball served in the United States Navy and worked as a bus driver with Davenport schools. He was preceded in death by his parents Kenneth Kimball Sr.

Melvin George Haas

A graveside funeral will be held for Melvin George Haas at 2 p.m., Tuesday, January 26, 2021, at the Wellston Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Lehman Funeral Home of Wellston. Haas was born to Carmi and Clara (Peterman) Haas on September 20, 1928, in Guthrie, Okla.

Stroud donations to foster families

Town Talk

Town Talk is spending these winter days planning for warmer days ahead. Our two main goals at the present time are putting a bugle boy statue in Ed. Smalley Centennial Park and having a Route 66 themed miniature golf course on Main Street. The golf course will use prefabricated holes.
