Chandler high school student Marley Miller won the breakaway roping and 15-and-under barrel racing Friday night at the Chandler Open Rodeo, highlighting a twonight run that included 346 contestants and $16,915 in prize money.
Miller stopped the clock at 2.9 seconds in the Friday night roping and ran the barrels in 16.012 seconds. She was back in the money in the Saturday night performance, running the barrels in 15.936 to finish second.
Dillion Vaughn and Shayde Kreder won custom spurs by Kirby Wanger for being the high money winners. They won both rounds of the team roping and earned $1,492 each.
Isis Burke from Chandler was crowned the rodeo queen and Addy Clay from Perkins was crowned princess.
In the always-entertaining Baby Bale Races, Chandler Family Dentistry’s team of Riley Shafer, Dr. Nicki Shafer and Shyann Shipman came in first. Their charity was the Chandler Ag Boosters.
In the men’s race Saturday night, the Chandler High School alumni team of Bryson Taylor, Maddox Metheny and Christian Geoller won for Arrow Wrecker Service. Their charity of choice was The Chosen House.
