Independence Day!

Communities around Lincoln County are gearing up for their annual Fourth of July celebrations this Friday.

Chandler will host their annual fireworks display at Bell Cow Lake on July 4. Fireworks are set to go off once it gets dark.

Additionally, Sturdy Wings Healthcare in Chandler will be hosting the 4th of July Long-term Care Celebration on July 3. Food and mingling kick off at 5 p.m., with fireworks to follow at 8:30 p.m. The event is located at 601 W. 1st Street in Chandler.

Davenport will host its annual Independence Day festival at North Park on July 4. Things kick off around 7 p.m. with free hot dogs. Watermelons will be available at 8 p.m. Fireworks are set to go off once it gets dark.

Meeker’s Independence Day festivities will be held on July 3 at Meeker Lake. Things kick off at 7 p.m. with vendors, food, games and live music. Fireworks will go off at around 9:15 p.m.

Stroud’s annual festival is set to take place at Foster Park on July 4, starting at 5 p.m. Free hot dogs will be available from 5-8 p.m. with live music from Loose Gravel from 6-9:30 p.m. The Stroud Fire Department will have a giant slip-n-slide while the Lions Club will have a dunk tank with some of your favorite locals to dunk.

Prague will have festivities starting on July 3 and running through July 4. The town will host a co-ed softball tournament on July 3-4 at the Little League Baseball Fields. On July 4, there will be a kids’ parade at 9 a.m. with sign-up starting at 8:30 a.m. at Park Pavilion 2. Opening ceremonies will take place right after at 9:30 a.m. at the Park Gazebo, with parade winners announced at 10 a.m.

Turtle, frog and foot races will commence at 10:15 a.m. west of the gazebo, and the golf tournament will kick off at the golf course at 10:30 a.m. Free watermelon will be available at 11 a.m.Avolleyball tournament will start at 12 p.m. There will also be a cornhole and horseshoe tournament, with free swimming at the Prague pool at 1 p.m. Fireworks are set to go off at dark.
