Prague school board approves new staff

The Prague School Board approved several personnel decisions at its regular meeting on Monday, May 11, while Superintendent Kimberly Fleak reported that the new high school construction is three months ahead of schedule.

The Board accepted the resignations of Andrew Walker as baseball coach, Julie Garner as a teacher and Donny Longest as band director. It also approved the hiring of Isaiah Crawford as the new band director for the 2026-27 school year, as well as renewing the employment of 37 support staff.

During the superintendent’s report, Fleak stated that the new high school is three months ahead of schedule and that there would be an all-high-school staff walkthrough on May 18. She added that teachers and staff should be moved out of the high school by May 26 to prepare for demolition of the north building, west building and fused building. This will take place on July 6.

She said Phase 1 of the new high school will be completed and ready for move-in by August 6, including desks and chairs for students and teachers.

The Board also approved the following increased purchase orders: PO#2 for Grimsley’s, Inc, from #25,262.10 to $28,262.10 PO#38 for L&L Oil and Tire, from $35,860.59 to $39,860.59 PO#118 for The City of Prague, from $165,436.96 to $200,436.96
