TheWellston School Board approved contracts, policies and personnel decisions at its regular meeting on July 9 and a special meeting on July 23.
At the July 9 meeting, the Board approved the US Foods Premier Agreement with Edmond Public Schools Extension, the Hiland Dairy bid and the Courseware Exact PathAgreement. The Board also approved budgets for the basketball, baseball, softball and band programs.
The Board appointed Jeff McKinley as varsity baseball coach, and Stacy Grimmett to teach 6th grade science, geography and middle school keyboarding.
The Board also approved fundraiser requests for the 2026-27 school year and changed the time last class period of the day ends for the elementary site to 3:15 p.m. to meet Senate Bill 1481 recess requirements.
The attendance policy, gate fees and changes to student and adult meals were also passed. Student lunch prices are set at $3.00 and adults $3.75.
The Board also approved to update signature cards for all accounts associated with Wellston Public Schools to include the following: Crystal Hull was removed and replaced with Christa Hoover, Elizabeth Withrow was removed and replaced with Rachel Morley, Dwayne Danker was removed and replaced with Susan Wray, Greg Grimmett was removed and replaced with Clancy Richards, Susan Wray was replaced with Cindy Webb, and Justin Rackley and Mallory Ebers were removed and replaced with Brad Pittman and Christa Coover.
At the special meeting, the Board approved contracts with Apptegy, Kelly Curry Physical Therapy, IXL and Shoelace Learning. It also approved more fundraiser requests.
The Board approved handbooks for the 2026-27 school year and OSSBA recommended policies on travel and expenses.
Personnel decisions approved include hiring Jeffrey McKinley to teach 6th and 7th grade math, Jacob Black as a secondary history teacher, Carrie Morley as a family support coordinator and slow pitch softball head coach and Elizabeth Finney to teach secondary physical science.
