Famed mural artist Bob Palmer and his team from Palmer Studios painted a mural at the Lincoln County Historical Society Museum of Pioneer History on Friday, Sept. 2 and Saturday, Sept. 3 as part of ongoing renovations in the museum’s Children’s Historical Resource Center.

Derrick Shouse has been promoted to Branch Manager of Vision Bank Meeker and Credit Administration Officer Jennifer Hessman to Team Lead, Document Preparation. Shouse has worked for Vision Bank for 10 years. He is a graduate of Meeker High School. He and his wife Marisa are the parents of Mikaylie.

Boots and Pearls Fundraiser

The Lincoln County Partnership for Child Well-Being will have its 2nd Annual Boots & Pearls Fundraising Event from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 Sep. 1 at The Interpretive Center. The Lincoln County Partnership for Child Well-Being is a resource for the improvement in child wellbeing in Lincoln County.

Neglect charges

A Chandler woman is facing a felony charge of child neglect and she’s made her initial appearance in court. A formal charge of child neglect was filed in July against Megan Rae Eckert, 34. A $20,000 bench warrant was originally issued the same day but it was returned and filed the following day.

Meeker Quilters’ Guild camp

The Meeker Quilters’ Guild sponsored its 12th annual Summer Quilt Camp July 18 - 20. Mammoth Baptist Church graciously hosted the 3-day event which was attended by 10 participants.
