The CHS Drama students will be competing in the OSSAA Regional Speech and Debate competition this weekend. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, the Drama Department has been unable to perform for live audiences this year, and the regional competition will be a virtual event.

Chandler High School seniors Emyley Mullen and Ashton Yates have been chosen as Lions of the Month by the Lion’s Club for the month of March. Emyley is the daughter of Bill and Stephanie Mullen. She has taken Advanced Placement English classes all four years of high school.

The Meeker High School band qualified for the OSSAA State Music Contest, which will be March 31 in Elk City. Performance time is scheduled for 9:40 a.m.. The band earned a Superior rating for its performance on stage and also earned a Superior rating in the Sightreading portion of the contest.

Food giveaway in Wellston

On Friday, March 26, free food will be distributed through the United States Department of Agriculture’s Farmers to Families Food Box Program. The boxes contain a meat product, dairy, fruit and vegetables so plan for refrigeration.
