Town Talk

Town Talk has brought a new business to Stroud inside an existing business, Unique OK. The new business is called Unique Market Ice Cream Shoppe. Andrea Flatt Thompson, Class of 1988, runs the ice cream portion of the store.

Happenings at Prairie Pointe

Independence Day has an added meaning at Prairie Pointe now. Three-year resident Alton McCune spent a late evening on the 4th watching fireworks and visiting with his daughter Anita Reynolds and his soon to be son-in-law Phil Wright.

Resolution review

Like me, you may have felt the slightest bit of a swerve at midnight Tuesday. That was the calendar, with us as passengers, turning the corner into the second half of 2020, which is more difficult to believe than you might think.

Thoughts on July 4

Many of you are aware of my passion for veterans. Without the dedication and service of those who fought in previous wars and conflicts, many of us wouldn’t be here today. A year ago the United States and France, among other countries, observed the 75th anniversary of the landing at Normandy.

Updates from Meeker Town Hall

The Town of Meeker is still under COVID-19 pandemic orders. There has been no more reported Corona virus positive testing. For our residents, please continue our 6 feet social distancing, washing hands often and using hand and home sanitizers.

Car keys dangling from my jeans pocket, green button-down rolled up to my elbows and a camera hanging around my neck as I strolled across the grassy, motorcycle-filled field, I was struck by how out of place I felt.

Happenings at Prairie Pointe

Residents at Prairie Pointe made a special effort to vote via absentee ballot so I sure hope those of you who could get out and felt comfortable doing so, made it to the polls. Five of the many reasons you should vote are: 1) Elections have consequences. 2) Not voting is giving up your voice.

If you’re taking your dog for a walk stop by True Value or Stroud Cleaners and let your dog “Pause and Refresh.” Town Talk has sponsored two dog watering stations for visitors and locals who enjoy strolling down Main Street with man’s best friend.
