Driving down Main Street it was sad to see the former flower shop’s sign had been taken down. It’s been a long time since Stroud has been without a flower shop. Over my lifetime many have come and gone – from Parker’s to Bettina’s and from Leona’s to OJ’s and others along the way.

Positives to Daylight Savings

Daylight SavingsTime returned this past weekend. According to the calendar, we’ll have it until Nov. 2 when it goes back.Personally, I’m an ardent supporter of Daylight Savings Time and making it permanent in our state woul d be a good deal.However, there is a hitch.

Hunting season is over

Another quail season has come and gone. In a way, I’m sorry I missed hunting the bobwhites other than briefly when my good friend Steve Buoy and I hunted them during the turkey season when we could hunt both quail and turkey.

Keep the state income tax

Governor Kevin Stitt and a number of lawmakers are insistent on cutting the state income tax this year and eventually seeing it eliminated altogether.Yet, he and those same lawmakers haven’t indicated they have come up with any new revenue stream to replace that income.
