This is a good time of the year to go to the lake like we did this past weekend and my wife Pat and I took our seven-year-old grandson Liam down there with us. It wasn’t the best weather, as it rained quite a bit. It turned off windy and for the most part and was cool, not cold, but cool.

Town Talk

Town Talk would like to thank everyone who donated to our “new scarecrow” campaign. We have used our scarecrows on Main Street for several years. They have been resewn, safety pinned, stapled and much more. We have certainly gotten our money’s worth out of them, but it is now time to replace them.

Fall is such a great time of year. It’s one of my favorites for several reasons. It’s starting to get a little cooler and the leaves usually begin falling at this time of the year.Depending on how cool it gets and how quickly that is will determine somewhat how much the trees shed their leaves.

In this crazy world we live in these days, it’s really easy to get caught up in everything that surrounds us. If we lose focus, it can give us a negative outlook on life and draw us away from all the positives there are.Don’t know about you, but I find myself in a funk sometimes.

Oklahomans who are supporting open state primary elections are a step closer to beginning a petition drive. If the petition is ruled sufficient, it would be on the General Election ballot in November of 2026.Last week, the State Supreme Court voted to give that drive the go ahead.
