The Parkview Elementary Cross-Country runners wrapped up their season last week with a fun Glow Run celebration. After the run they enjoyed some well-deserved ice cream.

I was 12 when my dad got our first Brittany. Since that time, until several ago, there’s always been at least one dog around our house.Except for a couple of pointers, several of them were Brittanys.My wife Pat and I have been married over 47years and we dated a year before that.

The Stroud Rural Fire Association will hold its annual meeting on September 29th at 6:30 p.m. at the Foster Park Pavilion. Entertainment will be provided by the Redland Country Band. The Association would like to get members more involved. Bring your neighbors and any potential members.

Town Talk is excited for the 2025 Tiger football season. To help cheer the Tigers on, we are selling black-handle Tiger Blue cowbells.One side of the bell says Stroud Tigers with a paw print. The back side is blank unless you want your player’s number on the back.

Big birthday

This Sunday is Aug. 31, the final day of August.This year, as is always, it’s an extremely important day in the lives of wife Pat and me, our son-in-law Terry and many others.It’s our grandson Liam’s birthday and he is turning 7.

Bad move by the gerrymanderers

Shame on Texas and California, where the Republicans and Democrats have engaged recently in political poker-playing that is doing a disservice and perhaps harm to America’s representative democracy.

Town Talk will be hosting a fundraiser this week, Wednesday August 27th at Fourth & James Caffeine and Sub Hub in Stroud. This is a free tasting party to sample crockpot meals and dips. These meal packets along with many others will be available to purchase. All proceeds go to community projects.
