The Davenport Bulldogs continued their dominating ways, pounding Pioneer 56-0 Friday and earning a spot in the Class B semifinals. Davenport will face Shattuck at 7 p.m. Friday at Southwestern State University with a berth in the state finals on the line.

Davenport rolls again

Davenport avenged a season-opening loss to Weleetka Friday with a dominating 46-6 win Friday night and rolled in to the state quarterfinals. The Bulldogs now head to Northwest Oklahoma on Friday to play the Pioneer-Pleasant Vale Mustangs.

Metro Christian knocks Meeker out of playoffs

Meeker was done in by the right arm of quarterback Asher Link and Metro Christian’s swift corps of wide receivers Friday. Link threw for 440 yards and connected on six touchdown passes as Metro ended the Bulldogs’ season in the second round of the Class 2A playoffs with a 42-20 decision.

Stroud falls to Pawuska

Pawhuska put up 34 unanswered points in the second half to erase a 26-0 deficit and end the Tigers’ season Friday night. The 34-26 loss was the first of year for Stroud, which ended the season with a 10-1 record. Stroud ran out to a 26-0 lead in the first half.

Lions’ season ends

The Lions struck first in their rematch with Luther Friday night, but couldn’t hold on and lost the battle of the Lions 26-8. Dyland McKinney scored on a short run to put Chandler up 6-0 on its first possession and then ran for the two-point conversion to make it 8-0.

Meeker rolls; faces Metro next

Any drama in Meeker’s first-round playoff game against Oklahoma Christian School was evaporated within the first 12 minutes of play Friday. The Bulldogs scored on two runs, a pass and a blocked punt and rang up 25 points before the first quarter was over and went on to win 44-14.

Brendan Alexander had a terrific career Friday night. A junior lineman, he blocked three punts in the Meeker Bulldogs’ 44-14 win over Oklahoma Christian School in the first round of the playoffs.

Stroud wins, faces Pawhuska Friday

Stroud gained almost 13 yards per snap and dominated Warner, 48-7, in the first round of the Class A playoffs Friday night.
