Lincoln County commissioners during a recent special meeting adopted a resolution for a CDBG grant application for a Rescue Mini Pumper for the Jacktown Fire Department.In connection with that, they also adopted a Fair Housing Resolution and Fair Housing Month Proclamation.

Powerlifters go to state

Schools across the area sent athletes to compete in powerlifting at the State level this month, with many placing.Grant Powell, powerlifting coach at Davenport, said they took nine boys to compete in the eight-man powerlifting meet this year.

Early voting for April 1 election

Early voting begins today in Lincoln and Pottawatomie Counties for the April 1 election where voters have several municipal contests, school board races and bond issues to decide.In Pottawatomie County, all voters can help decide whether to make a county education sales tax permanent.

Stroud school board meeting

The Stroud School Board voted to approve the purchase of playground equipment for the playgrounds at Parkview Elementary School at their regular meeting on Monday, March 10.The equipment will cost $222,315 and will be purchased from Children’s Specialty.
