Doonkeen, Byrd charged with domestic assault, battery Jessica Byrd and Mason Doonkeen, both of Stroud, were charged with domestic assault and battery in connection with an incident in Stroud on September 21.

According to officer Wade Martin, Byrd and Doonkeen hit Allen Miller on the head with a frying pan Miller told police he was in his room when Mason Doonkeen asked him for medicine before hitting his head with a cast iron skillet. The victim pretended to be dead in order to avoid being hit again, according to the affidavit.

He then got up and left the room but Doonkeen pushed him back in. Miller’s neighbor said Doonkeen chased Miller outside and into his yard.

When officer Martin arrived at Miller’s residence in Stroud, Jessica Byrd and Doonkeen were outside. Byrd had blood on her legs and a small cut on her arm. Both Doonkeen and Byrd were arrested for domestic assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.

Doonkeen and Byrd’s court date was set for Monday, Oct. 7 and each has a bond of $3,000.

Brooks charged with domestic abuse Ty Wayne Brooks was charged with domestic abuse for an incident that happened in Stroud on September 24.

According to an arrest affidavit filled out by officer Aaron Keeling, Brooks and his wife were driving home from a family event when Brooks got mad about the neighbors’ dogs.

When officers Keeling and Stewart arrived, his wife stood behind them, separating herself from Brooks. She had a split lip, bloody nose, and a bruise over her eye, according to the affidavit.

Brook’s court date court date was set for Monday, Oct. 7 and has a bond of $3,000.

Smith charged with impersonating another Derek Lee Smith was charged with impersonating another, a felony, and three misdemeanors. Officer Calvin Davidson pulled Smith while he was riding a purple motorcycle on Highway 66 in Wellston. Davidson said Smith told him he was Dennis Smith and did not have a driver’s license on him. Officer Davidson found that Smith had a suspended driver’s license and a warrant form Noble County. He then arrested Smith and found a drivers license for Derek Lee Smith, whose license was also revoked and also had a warrant from two other counties, Grady and Oklahoma.

Smith is charged with impersonating another, obstructing a peace officer, failure to pay state taxes, and driving while license revoked. His court date was set for Monday, Oct. 7 with a bond of $10,000.

Ray arrested for stolen vehicle possession Alex Lee Ray was arrested for driving a stolen Toyota Avalon on Sep. 22 in Stroud. According to an arrest affidavit by Deputy Larry Stover Jr., Ray stole the car from the friend of a relative with whome he was staying.

Ray went to a friend’s house and they left to go to Tulsa but ran out of gas after getting off the Turnpike at Stroud, according to the affidavit. The friend said she had no idea the car was stolen, and Ray said she had not been involved, according to the affidavit. Ray’s friend was let go and Ray was taken into custody.

Ray’s courtd ate is set for November 7.

Almanza attempts jail break Mirena Almanza was arrested, again, after being found trying to break from jail. Deputy Cody Coleman of the Lincoln County Sheriff’s office saw from the control room of the Lincoln County Jail that Almanza had run past a detention officer and down the hallway, according to the arrest affidavit.

Coleman worked with detention sergeant Jennifer Talent to get Almanza back into her cell. Almanza resisted and asked not be put back in her cell. As a result, those in charge moved Almanza to a different cell in solitary.

Almzana’s court date is set for Nov. 7.

Degner arrested for assault, battery Teara Jean Degner was arrested for assault and battery of a police officer regarding an incident that happened in Stroud on Sep. 28.

According to the arrest affidavit filled out by officer Wade Martin, Degner hit officer Amy Bennett and threatened to shoot Martin and his family while being transported to the Lincoln County Jail.

Degner was driving a grey Chevrolet Impala and witness reported she was driving others off the road. Officer Martin said waited for her at the intersection between Highway 66 and Highway 99 before using his emergency lights and siren to pull Degner over. Degner said she was Tara Hicks and her birthdate was 1972 – she is 22 years old and did not have a drivers license with her.

After she was arrested, Degner tried to headbutt officer Bennett, then kicked her in the leg, according to the affidavit. Degner also threatened to shoot officer Martin’s family in front of him. Officers at the Lincoln County Jail said she was Teara Degner, 22, and had an arrest warrant from Creek County.

Degner was arrested for assault and battery of a police officer, a felony, threatening violence, unsafe driving, obstructing an officer, and displaying a false ID. Her court date is set for Nov. 7 and her bond is set at $3,000.
