Dr. Robert (Bob) Lee Goodmon D.O., was born on February 27, 1943, in Keytesville, Missouri. He departed this life on August 12, 2024, at the Integris Health Baptist Medical Center, Oklahoma.
Bob was the son of Leila Kathryn (Pemberton - Goodmon) Gottschalk, James Bernard Goodmon and stepfather Robert Lee Gottschalk. Bob had three siblings: one brother – Paul Gordon Goodmon ofKendrick,OK—andtwosisters–LindaGoodmon Emery and husband C.D. Emery of Derby, Kansas, and Kathleen Goodmon of Texas. Bob was blessed with four sons: James Goodmon of Columbia, Missouri, Steve Goodmon of Raymore, Missouri, Todd GoodmonandwifeSusanofColumbia,Missouri,and Robert Goodmon and wifeAmy of Liberty, Missouri. Bob had many grandchildren, nephews and nieces and many more loving family members and friends. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Christina Goodmon, his brother, Paul Goodmon, and nephew, Michael Goodmon.
Bob went to college and became a doctor. He received a diploma from the Kansas City College of Osteopathy and Surgery and theAmerican College of General Practitioners in Osteopathic Medicine and Surgery. He worked at Hillcrest Health Center in Oklahoma City for over 20 years and owned his own practice. He liked to go to casinos for entertainment when he was able and, without fail, had good advice for anyone who had a medical problem. The staff at the Heritage Park Nursing Home, where Bob spent his last years, said that any medical questions they asked Dr. Goodmon, he was always spot-on with his medical information. They said it would brighten his day when they asked him medical questions from newborns to the matured in age. He had a few buddies at Heritage Park that he enjoyed spending time visiting with.
There will not be a service. Bob’s ashes will be buried in Davenport Cemetery next to his mother Leila Gottschalk. Thank you for your kind wishes and support, God Bless.
