plate had expired in November 2024. The vehicle was impounded, and the driver received a citation for the expired registration Ofc. Gilleland responded toAtwoods at 11:50 a.m. for a theft report. A worker there said an unidentified man and woman set the door alarm off and hopped into a U-Haul, heading east on Route 66. He showed the officer footage of the couple entering at 11:45 a.m. and leaving at 11:47 a.m. There was no footage of them walking down a tool aisle, where the worker believes they took two drills. Photos were taken of the couple, but Ofc. Gilleland said that without clear video, there was no way to know if they had taken anything.
Ofc. Byford was on patrol around 4:40 p.m. when he observed a vehicle roll through the stop sign at 9th and Manvel before coming to a stop in the middle of the intersection and then driving north. The officer initiated a traffic stop and discovered the driver had a warrant out in Oklahoma County ($30,000 bond for trafficking illegal drugs). As he was taking the man into custody, he began shaking and said he was having a seizure. EMS arrived and checked him out, saying he was fine.
