DA files charges against Prague man

The Lincoln County district attorney filed a domestic assault charge against a Prague man after a reported altercation with his girlfriend.

DA Adam Panter filed on March 27, charging Legus Dean Jacoway, 40, of Prague with one felony count of domestic assault and battery by strangulation for an incident that took place on or around March 23, according to court documents.

Ofc. Devin Taylor of the Prague Police Department reported in the probable cause affidavit that a woman cameintothedepartment to report an assault. She said that on March 23, she and Jacoway, her boyfriend, got into a verbal argument. It was during this that Jacoway allegedly became aggressive.

Taylor wrote in the report that he observed injuries on the woman that were consistent with her recounting of the event physical evidenceandobservedinjuries matching the woman’s account, he then responded to Jacoway’s residence and took him into custody without incident.
