Chandler High School student Lonna Asher has been awarded a scholarship from the Oklahoma Propane Education and Safety Council, according to a press release.
The scholarship recognizes children and grandchildren of local propane marketers who exhibit outstanding academic achievement, leadership and community involvement. Asher was selected from a competitive pool of applications and stood out for her “academic excellence, commitment to service and strong character,” the release said.
While attending CHS, she’s been actively involved in multiple activities while maintaining her academic record. The scholarship will go toward her continued education at Gordon Cooper Technology Center, where she plans to major in nursing.
