State champs!

Area athletes brought home seven state championships over the weekend. Stroud’s Peyton Davis won the Class 2A 100-meter dash and 100-meter hurdles, giving her an incredible 11 state championships in her career. She won the 100 meters four years in a row. Amarie Bobo from Stroud won the Class 2A state championship in the shot put to follow the Class A state championship she won last year. Sophomore Sophie Young from Stroud won her second consecutive Class 2A high jump state championship and senior Jacob Beck won the Class 2A 110-meter hurdles state championship. The Prague foursome of sisters Hailey and Harley Johnson, Jocelyn Ward and Jaxi Friend claimed the Class 3A 4x800 relay state championship on at Catoosa. And the Dale Lady Pirates pulled out a thriller in the Class 4A state finals and won their second straight slow pitch state championship and eighth overall.
