During a special meeting June 15, the Stroud Board of Education unanimously approved Lesa Elerick as Stroud High School principal and several other personnel moves for the 2026-27 school year.
The board also hired Charlotte Couch as a middle school and high school teacher and band program assistant. Ali Johnson was hired as head coach for fast-pitch and slow-pitch softball.
Kevin Couch received an extra-duty contract as band director that includes summer practices and all home regular-season basketball games. Leslie Anderson received an extra-duty contract as vocals director and will serve as vocals coordinator for drama productions.
The personnel votes followed an hourlong executive session.
The board additionally authorized Superintendent Joe Van Tuyl to negotiate a contract with a qualified candidate for an open special education teaching position.
In other business, the board approved an activity performance incentive stipend for qualifying staff and removed Nicholas Hoover as a signatory on the high school activity fund account.
