Eight members of the Meeker FFA Chapter recently attended the Oklahoma FFA Alumni Leadership Camp, where they joined FFA members from across the state for a week of leadership development, personal growth and patriotic celebration.
Attending from Meeker were Jett Newport, Analie Staude, Michael Pritchard, Drake McMillan, Jacob Shade, Beau Newport, Kadence Staude and Baylee Weeks.
A highlight of this year’s camp was the celebration of the United States’250th birthday. Meeker FFA members Baylee Weeks, Kadence Staude and Beau Newport were selected for the prestigious honor of raising the nation’s colors during the patriotic ceremony, representing both their chapter and community.
“My favorite camp experience was raising our nation’s colors on the 250th anniversary of our nation,” said Beau Newport.
Throughout the week, members participated in leadership workshops, team-building activities, patriotic ceremonies, and camp traditions designed to strengthen their leadership skills while building lifelong friendships with fellow FFA members from across Oklahoma.
Michael Pritchard reflected on one of his favorite camp memories, saying, “My cabin waited until the stroke of midnight to sing the national anthem to our country. What a feeling!”
WhenaskedtodescribeOklahomaFFAAlumniLeadership Camp in just three words, Kadence Staude replied, “Love, Liberty, & Disco (one of Oklahoma FFA’s best dance songs at camp).”
The Meeker FFA Chapter is proud of its members for representing their school and community while continuing to develop the leadership skills that will benefit them both within the organization and beyond.
