A woman was charged with three counts of property damage for incidents that occurred in Meeker on July 17 and 20.
Charges were filed on July 24 against Erika Harkins, 28, for three felony counts of malicious injury to property over $1,000 by District Attorney Adam Panter.
Dep. Alf Hancock with the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to a residence in Meeker on July 20 concerning a domestic in progress, according to the probable cause affidavit. When he arrived, Hancock reported that Harkins was standing by two damaged vehicles, yelling at a man who lived there and was keeping his distance in the front yard. Hancock wrote that Harkins allegedly told him she damaged the cars, so he placed her in handcuffs and put her in his patrol car.
According to the report, the man had been taking a nap with his child when he heard banging from outside. When he got up to look, he reportedly saw Harkins with a shovel in her hands. He then called 911 and stayed inside while locking the doors until deputies arrived.The man’s roommatestatedthathehad a short video of Harkins allegedly scratching one car. The man also alleged that Harkins had been at the house on July 17 and broke the windows on the house.
Hancock took photos of the damage and the video.
According to the affidavit, the man’s car had a shattered front window on the driver’s side, a brick stuck in the lower middle of the window, a busted rear window and a busted driver’s side mirror. The roommate’s car had a word scratched into the driver’s front and back doors, and the front window was shattered.
Court documents state that the broken house windows were valued at around $6,000, the damage to the man’s car was valued at around $2,500 and the damage to the roommate’s car was valued at approximately $2,500.
