Allen’s Chad Milne hit a three-pointer with just under two seconds left to lift Allen to a 41-39 win over Wellston in the finals of the Tri-County Tournament Saturday night.
Wellston had taken a 39-38 lead on a bucket by Hunter Green, but Allen got the ball back with just over 10 seconds left and worked it to Milne behind the arc straight-away to the bucket.
It was the fourth three of the game for Milne, who had 23 points, leading all scorers.
McCoy Coulson had 15 to lead Wellston. Green had nine.
The game was intense throughout and neither team was able to build a very large lead. Allen lead early, but Wellston took the lead in the second quarter and kept it most of the remainder of the game.
Wellston reached the finals with a 75-63 win over North Rock Creek and a 63-57 win over Class A No. 17 Asher.
In the girls championship game, Earlsboro beat Davenport, 50-33.
Davenport, now 13-3, reached the finals with a 58-23 win over Macomb and a 60- 23 victory over Wetumka.
