Sentencing set

A woman charged with two felonies, one of them alleging computer fraud, has waived a jury trial, and agreed to appear for a plea and sentencing.

Blind plea entered in Carney murder

A Wellston woman who was scheduled to go on trial earlier this week in the death of a Carney man has entered a guilty blind plea and her sentencing has been scheduled.

Bands wind up season

The marching band season ended with the OSSAA Marching Band Regionals last week. Five schools in the area with marching bands competed, earning scores from 1 to 4.The Pride of Chandler scored straight 1s at the NE Marching Band Regionals in Oolagah, ending a stellar season strong.

Chandler approves new subdivision ordinances

The Chandler City Council voted to approve changes to city ordinances regarding sidewalks and lighting in new subdivisions, among other things, at their monthly meeting on Oct. 8.The updates require developers to install sidewalks and streetlights in new subdivisions.

Commission accepts bid

Lincoln County commissioners this week awarded a bid for construction of a new OSU Extension Office Building at the fairgrounds.They also agreed to make modifications to the jail expansion/renovation project, opting to scrap the expansion but go ahead with the renovation.

Chandler Board of Education members this week accepted the resignations of several personnel and employed a new I.T. technician.They also were presented with the College Remediation report and the dropout report.School Supt. Scott Baade said the board members voted to employ Ian Hamilton as an I.T.

Choirs at local junior high and high schools definitely have something to sing about. Stroud and Chandler saw several students make ECOCDA choirs last week.Director Leslie Anderson at Stroud said she is very excited for her six students who made the honor hoirs.
