Annual county-wide 4-H Fundraiser is Nov. 6

Lincoln County 4-H will host their annual 4-H Pig Roast meal and Benefit Auction on Saturday, Nov. 6, at the Lincoln County Agri-Civic Center. 4-H’ers from across the county will be working together to provide the best meal money can buy.

Chandler Chamber is gearing up for Christmas

Tree Lighting Festival The Chandler Area Chamber of Commerce will kick off the Christmas season, 6 p.m., Friday, Dec. 3, with the Annual Tree Lighting Festival in Downtown Chandler at the Lincoln County Courthouse. The event will continue until 8 p.m. at which time the tree will be lit.

October Student Rotarians announced

October Student Rotarians announced Chandler High School seniors Delaney Haley and Caroline McCalip were named student members of the Rotary Club for October 2021. Delaney Haley is the daughter of Ryan Haley and Shelley Haley and has one younger sibling.

PATRIOTIC ESSAY WINNER

Adrianna Rivera, an eighth grade student at Chandler Jr. High School, receives a certificate and $250 check from Kaci Jarvis, Communications Coordinator with Canadian Valley Electric Cooperative. Adrianna won first place in the CVEC and American Legion District #4 essay contest.

Meeker Middle School honor rolls released

Officials at Meeker Middle School have released the names of students listed on the honor rolls for the first nine weeks of the 2021-2022 school year. The following were on the Superintendent’s Honor Roll.

County Demos meet Thursday

Meeker Greenhands win competitions

Over the past two weeks Meeker FFA has had students competing in Greenhand Quiz and Opening and Closing Ceremonies contests. They have been very successful in their competitions. Last week at Morrison, the Opening and Closing Ceremonies teams placed first in one room and second in the other.

Check out the new books at Chandler Public Library

Librarians at the Chandler Public Library recently purchased new books to help you catch up on the latest bestsellers. The library, located at 1021 S. Manvel Ave., is open 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Saturday.

UCO Summer graduates named

Officials at the University of Central Oklahoma announced the students who completed their college degrees during the summer 2021 semester. Since Central does not hold a summer commencement ceremony, many of these students participated in the spring 2021 ceremony.
